Spend more time with the music and less time correcting mistakes. This is the file that you will import into Finale. Includes precision recognition of lyrics, text and chord symbols. You can (and should) edit your scan in SSX2P. Open that scan with SmartScore X2 Pro and you’re good to go. It’s part of the Mac OS and has worked properly since OS 10.8.2. are unable to properly scan from inside Smartscores scanning interface. In the directions, skip down to the part where it talks about using Image Capture.app and use that to scan in the document. SmartScore X2 Professional Edition (Serial number prefix D). On the Mac, you can’t scan directly from within SmartScore since OS 10.5 (or the kludge with 10.6). Also, all that nonsense about HP and all-in-one scanners can be ignored-none of that has been correct for years. Unfortunately, the instructions talk about that first. It is not complicated but the instructions are way outdated (at least for the Mac). I don’t know how to use it over Windows but TWAIN hasn’t been supported on the Mac since OS 10.5. As a Finale owner, you can get the same price from Musitek. Nor did changing the instrument to a C instrument - nothing happened in terms of the key in the recognized part changing. I can see this will be a big problem if I try to scan and export a multi horn score into Finale! I did try indicating the transposition in SSP (far right column in Playback console) but that didn't seem to make any difference. I searched through the SSP manual, but couldn't find an answer. In the Score Manager it may say Alto, but it also says "no transposition", so they key you see on the part has been recognized as the concert key. Now, after setting the playback instrument in SSP to, say Alto sax Eb, and exporting as XML into Finale, Finale doesn't see it as an Eb part. I'm so used to importing a TIF file into Finale, and specifying the instrument so Finale knows the concert vs transposed key. My question now for you SSP expert users is how to get Finale to recognize the part imported as a transposed one.
